thyme camphor --> thymol

(Science: chemistry) A phenol derivative of cymene, C10H13.OH, isomeric with carvacrol, found in oil of thyme, and extracted as a white crystalline substance of a pleasant aromatic odour and strong antiseptic properties.

Synonym: hydroxy cymene.
