An infection by Candida species (especially Candida albicans) that spreads throughout the body such as the heart, kidneys, brain, liver, and genital tracts.

This kind of Candida infection is life-threatening as it can result to sepsis. It is associated with people who have neutropenia and compromised immune system.

Note: Although some references consider candidosis as the more correct technical name for this condition other references use the term candidiasis synonymously with candidosis.
