Spiramycin

(Science: chemical) A macrolide antibiotic produced by streptomyces ambofaciens. The drug is effective against gram-positive aerobic pathogens, n. Gonorrhoeae, and staphylococci. It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria and toxoplasma gondii.

Pharmacological action: antibiotics, macrolide, coccidiostats.
