Of, denoting to, or relating to primapara; having given birth to offspring first time or at one time

The term primiparous pertains to a female that delivered an offspring at one time. It is used in contrast with other females that have not yet given birth (nulliparous) and with those that have more than once (multiparous).


Word origin: Latin prīmus (first) + pariō (I give birth).
