A type of chromatography in which the chromatographic bed or the stationary phase is on a plane, such as a paper or a glass plate

Based on the chromatographic bed shape, there are two major forms of chromatography: the planar chromatography and the column chromatography. Paper chromatography and thin layer chromatography are examples of planar chromatography.
