(Science: chemical) N,n-dimethyl-4-(phenylazo)benzenamine. Reagent used primarily for the induction of experimental liver cancer. According to the fourth annual report on carcinogens (ntp 85-002, p. 89) published in 1985, this compound may reasonably be anticipated to be a carcinogen. (merck, 11th ed)
