Lovage

(Science: botany) An umbelliferous plant (Levisticum officinale), sometimes used in medicine as an aromatic stimulant.

Origin: f. Liveche, fr. L. Levisticum, ligusticum, a plant indigenous to Liguria, lovage, from Ligusticus Ligustine, Ligurian, Liguria a country of Cisalpine gaul.
