Definition

adjective

(botany) Of a flower bud in which the margins of petals and sepals within the flower bud are overlapping such that one (or more) of the petals and sepals is outside all others and the others are inside in one margin while inside on the other.

verb

(general) To overlap at the edges in a regular pattern.
