Helianthin

(Science: chemistry) An artificial, orange dyestuff, analogous to tropaolin, and like it used as an indicator in alkalimetry.

Synonym: methyl orange.

Origin: Prob. Fr. L. Helianthes, or NL. Helianthus, sunflower, in allusion to its colour.
