A gelatinase in plasma fibronectin that cleaves gelatin and fibronectin when activated.


Fibronectin (FN) -gelatinase is a latent fragment in fibronectin. Fibronectin can be cleaved to produce fragments, such as FN-gelatinase. The latter becomes an active proteinase, capable of degrading gelatin (and fibronectin).
