Dyspnea paroxysmal

Dyspnea, paroxysmal

a form of respiratory distress related to posture (especially reclining at night) and usually attributed to congestive heart failure with pulmonary oedema. It appears suddenly at night, usually wakening the patient after an hour or two of sleep. It is also called paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea.
