The amount of additional air that can be inhaled through forcible inspiration following a normal inspiration.


Supplement

The complemental air is the measure of additional air that can be inhaled after the tidal volume. It can be measured, or determined through vital capacity less the sum of the expiratory reserve volume and tidal volume.
