Brant-fox

(Science: zoology) a kind of fox found in Sweden (vulpes alopex), smaller than the common fox (v. Vulgaris), but probably a variety of it.

Origin: For brand-fox; cf. G. Brandfuchs, Sw. Bradraf. So called from its yellowish brown and somewhat black colour. See brand.
