(dentistry) The stage in tooth development marked by the tooth bud taking on a different shape (a bell shape) and composition (through tissue differentiation).


A part of the dental organ gives rise to ameloblasts. Also, a part of the dental papilla becomes the odontoblasts. The dental sac gives rise to cementoblasts.
