(Science: botany) The woolly-skinned rhizoma or rootstock of a fern (Dicksonia barometz), which, when specially prepared and inverted, somewhat resembles a lamb.

Synonym: scythian lamb.

Origin: cf. Russ. Baranets' clubmoss.
