Acclimatisation

1. (Science: physiology) The physiological process through which an organism grows accustomed or adapts to a new environment.

2. (Science: microbiology) in mcrobial cultures, this can involve enzymatic changes that allow it to use an new nutrient source for energy. Adaptation to a new climate (a new temperature or altitude or environment).Acclimatisation is where an organism is subject to sudden changes of environments, where it must adapt physiologically so that the organism can continue to operate normally in the new environment.
