Molecular Cell Biology
Very Good Introduction to Biology, November 12, 2001
I think author made every effort to make the subject simple to understand. It does not go to much into details yet covers more in general terms. If you need more detailed information you could look at book "The Cell" but I found this book more easier to follow. Pictures are better. This book has lesser pre-requisite information to follow and understand what is going on.It has all the standard subjects of Molecular Cell Biology. Cell itself is explained in laymans terms with good pictures.
Very good text book on the subject, December 22, 2001
If you get the latest edition book is much nicer with better pictures and more up to date on the subjects. I found this book easier than the "The Cell" book or can be used paralell. What I liked also is the applications to human describing typical concepts when some cells or proteins/enzymes does not function properly.
Best volume I've yet found for a tough subject, March 9, 1999
I am an attorney but have a science background. I've recently decided to learn biotechnology as a personal interest. This book is well written and illustrated. It really covers the material without dumbing down and without loosing the reader as many books do. I found I could successgfully teach myself with this volume.
