What chemical does chromosome contain? (protein or DNA?)

:D No kidding, but might be interesting to have a look at the definition of a chromosome in our dictionary. While you're at it look for histones too.

and at first they thought the protein was the genetic material because proteins are more complex. But hey look: A simple molecule like DNA is the actual genetic material.

I think it is so cool that there are so many different genes from only what is in that molecule!! It's amazing!!

A chromosome consists of a molecule of DNA associated with proteins (histonic and non-histonic) and RNA.

A chromosome consist of DNA, histonic proteins, non-histonic proteins and RNA (only a very little percentage but it exists).
