tips on cell fractionation?

Post by kartikv » Thu Nov 16, 2006 4:50 am

Usually people complain about cytosolic contamination of nuclear extracts when they do fractionation. But, when I seem to do it, I get nuclear contamination in my cytosolic extract and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to avoid that.

Low weigth are much interfering. For fractionating technique you just have to do is;

Repeat procedure as many times you can.

Addition of any other substance for density gradient seperation may disturb your cytosolic extract. Post if found any such substance that can be used.
