DNA Replication

Post by biouser123 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 3:34 am

Why does DNA replication only occur in the 5' to 3' direction. Wouldn't it be more advantageous for it go from the 3' to 5' also instead of having a lagging strand involving Okasaki fragments. Thanks
