Looking for an opportunity to study molecular evolution

Post by kuforen » Sat Nov 04, 2006 12:15 am

My name is Seonghwan Park.
I am a Korean forensic pathologist and a PhD candidate in department of legal medicine (Korea University, Seoul).
I have interests on molecular phylogeny of necrophagous fly species.
I would like to study molecular phylogeny or molecular evolution for 1 or 2 years in US or UK.
Our department of legal medicine will give me scholarship for first year of postdoctorial training.
So I do not need any fund in the first year of postdoctorial training.
Although my major is forensic pathology, I can perform various molecular techniques.
Because my PhD thesis is about molecular identification of necrophagous fly species, I can use some bioinformatics softwares.
My plans in US(or UK) are to learn more about molecular phylogeny and to write many research articles.
My university demands more than 2 original articles in journals registered in SCI and research carrier in abroad for assistant professor employment.
I am not good at searching internet resources about postdoc employment and I'm not sure "where I should apply".
How can I get a position in the molecular phylogeny field?

SEarch Litterature on the subject, and find interesting papers. look at the authors and contact them... if you have a scho;arship you are very likely to find someone willing to take you in their lab.
