Animals should be used for researches. Because researches are for the good of human.

The pig you are dissecting is actualy a late-term pig fetus. Mother pigs are impregnated because it causes them to grow more edible meat. Late in the pregnancy is when the mother has the most meat on her, and is then slaughtered. The aborted fetuses are given to schools for biological study.

Just a little thought while you munch your morning's bacon =)

This is science. If we haven't used animals for researches, I'm 100% sure that we still wouldn't have found the cure for many illnesses.

Its about respecting the animal. I guess the US Native Americans had it a little right when they hunted and were successful, they thanked the spirit of the animal for its sacrifice and continued treating the animal with respect and dignity. The same should apply to science (at least the respect and dignity thing)

Biology, in a literal translation from Latin means "The study of life."

I find it difficult to believe that one who studies life is not respectful of it.

How can you study something you do not respect?

Heh, unfortunately, some people see the study of biology as a road to power, glory, money (I didn't say they were sane) just like in any other field. Its easy to not respect the thing you are studying if your motives are something other than discovery.
