Dictyostelium amoebae aggregation

Post by jp0211 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 9:48 am

When the Dictyostelium amoebae aggregate to form a migrating slug and finally a fruiting body, the founder cells become the stalk cells, the second group of cells that arrive become the sporecase and spores, and the final group of cells to arrive form the basal disc.
How can I show that this is indeed what occurs?? What experimental procedure can be done?
