Mitochondrial evolution

Post by dyna_r » Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:11 am

Hello there,
Despite the endosymbiotic mechanism, I really want to know more about mitochondrial evolution. this subject really impressed me..I want to know how the mitochondrion evolved to be more highly dependent to the nucleus..and about the genomic approach (using mtDNA) in human evolution...well, not only human but also for all eukaryotes..like the phylogenetic things...
another confusing but interesting one is that...is there any signal transduction in the mitochondrion..how is the mechanism?..is it the same mechanism in cell membran?...and how about the outer and inner membran?..it's so impermeable, right????
Mitochondria...you impressed me!!!
