How many times does a leukocyte need to hit its target? The answer to this question is that a leukocyte needs at least 1916 to 2929 collisions to hit its target. This estimation was calculated by the researchers from DreamSciTech Consulting in the very much delayed issue of American Journal of Infectious Diseases 2005; 1: 156-161. In this article, the researchers show how to use probabilistic collision model to estimate the collisions among virus, antibody and normal cell. Meanwhile, they show how this problem be transferred into the Lanchester equations for warfare. For open access, http://www.scientificworld.net/fulltext ... 56-161.pdf or http://www.scipub.org.
