maybe what rama means is ..."live" in tropic region. But that doesn't make sense either. Of course it can, that virus can spread anywhere there are birds :P unless it cross the species barrier (and it already did in some mammals... cats, if I'm not mistaken), then it becomes even more dangerous. Living at temperate or tropic regions does not make a difference. Maybe if you're living at the polar zones... by sheer distance from everything else or the lack of transmitting hosts :P

...cats... now pigs... this is getting scarier by the minute. Once these infected mammals can spread the virus airborne, then we're done for. Maybe, they'll find a new term for this, definitely AFV won't apply.

Yep, when this avian flu have a cross with human common flu....then it will be a nightmare for us...
