Taking AP Biology. Summer assignment. Need help! >_<

Post by SurrealDivine » Thu Aug 17, 2006 6:19 pm

Hello, everyone. I'm taking an AP Biology Course next year. The teacher handed out some questions..5 chapters worth..without giving us a text to go by.

Quite frankly, I believe some of these questions are vaguely written, and make it harder to research.

1. Briefly describe the unifying themes that pervade the science of biology.
2. Explain how properties of life emerge from complex organization.
3. Describe seven emergent properties associated with life.

More questions:

1. State four elements essential to life that make up 96% of living matter.
Hydrogen, Carbon, Oxygen and ?
2. Why are radioisotopes important to biologists?
3.

If it would be possible for anyone to answer these questions, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

can't you find the answer in your textbook?

lol. Try searching on the net. wikipedia.org might be a place to start. But you are right, the questions are pretty vague and you could probably write a 100 page essay on each of them

I bought an ap prep book, costs about 40 bucks but it gets me through faster than texts.
