Can a 45 year old woman get arthritis?

Post by chenglorraine » Mon Jul 31, 2006 4:07 am

Can a 45 year old woman get arthritis? The reason why I am asking is that My mum is experiencing a joint pain, as well as having a swelled knee.
Can she get anything else other than arthritis?
Please can anyone help me? This is urgent!
Thank you!
P.S. She didn't knock anything over by the way. That's why I feel she has got arthritis.

It is possible, however you should probably consult a doctor as opposed to asking us.

Topic renamed. See our rules. And also the thread on onlien diagnosis. It is impossible for us to know what your mother has.

while you are waiting for an appointment to see the doctor, you might try to go to the library and ask for medical association family diagnostic type book that educates you about specific problems.

also try web MD for easy to understand info:

your mom is the same age as me, unfortunatly we start to have some difficulties at this time.
