What are three of the safeguards that prevent us from digest

i think one is coating of mucus. is this right?
anyone can tell me?

I think he means like dirt and stuff getting into the digesting tract. Hairs in the nose, muscus lining etc.

the question is The human digestive system secretes numerous chemicals that break down organic material. What are three of the safeguards that prevent us from digesting our own tissues

One they don't move place to place plus the have a protecting coating on them that I think is mucus.

He is speaking about the acids that are secreted by the stomache to break down foods as well as bile. For this I believe we have enzymes that coat the lining of the tissues that make the acids well not acidic, we have mucus, and the last one I do not know.

It's bile isn't it? Bile acts as a neutraliser which stops the Acid from damaging our small intestine tissue.
It's just a guess anyway......
