I found that less and less papers invovleing snp were entrezed to PUBMED .
Is snp research out of fashion? who can explain it ? thanks!

No its not more will be published, at this point the arrays have been fabricated and they are being tested on large populations.

i think there was HUGE paper in science last fall... that talks about SNP's common to certain populations of people. Something almost like a SNP genome assembly.

thanks for your explaination.
how do you think the future of SNP research in case control study ? I think they are senseless for the SNP has too little effecs on the phenotype. there is no firm relation between the SNP and phenotype, although the SNP could be viewed as a marker.

SNP research will only grow. Now that the HAPMAP project has laid the groundwork, and with Affymetrix producing 500K SNP chips, human medical research will use these tools for many case/control studies. Not many causative SNPs are known, but as markers, SNPs will be huge tools for QTL and other mapping studies. Don't worry, SNPs will be useful for a long time to come.
