The old post was about "life"; this is about human beings. Something more specific, I hope. I am trying to understand why races exist although we all are genetically the same. I am trying to blog about it. So I thought I do it after I get some feedback.

When in evolutionary history did humans come to exist? I don't know if I am asking this question right but I'd like an answer anyway.

Modern human beings were said to have been descended from modern Africa. I heard it over NGC. Was the earth one big monolithic mass during this time? Or was the land dividing itself by continental drifts?

Yes from what I have read, the first humans were geneticaly traced to |Africa, And we know that at one point the earth was connected.
That is one of the ways they speculate humans came to the Americas.

PS: R U going to disappear again? :?

I wasnt planning on replying here to this immensely open question but theres something that should be corrected; people from different are NOT genetically the same. For example physicians treating patients for hypertension will prescibe different drugs for white vs black or latino patients since metabolism varies for different drugs making some drugs such as the commonly used beta-blockers less effective in black people which are better treated on a different regimen. There's excellent websites on the other issues on paleoanthropology. good luck
