How neuroleptics work in schizophrenia?

Post by Luci » Fri May 05, 2006 10:12 am

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help me.

I recently wrote a paper about schizophrenia for my biology class. The professor said my draft is very good, but I should add sdomething about the roles of neuroleptics in treatment. Basically, he wants me to explain how neuroleptics block the dopamine binding to receptor (if I understood correctly). I read some things but it is too advanced for me. It would be useful if someone could explain to me how this work in not too complicated terms, so that I could understand.

Thank you in advance!
