different bonds with oxydrils

Post by Ultrashogun » Thu May 04, 2006 6:40 pm

O-glycosidic, anidridic(-CO-CO-), esteric and eteric bonds all involve the condensation of two OH groups. My professor said that the way the anomeric OH behaves in a bond is different because it originates from a carbonic group. Why does it behave different and what about the other types of bonds that derive from -OH?
