Please Explain-glucagon,insulin

Post by Bio_Girl015 » Sun Apr 23, 2006 5:53 pm

Can someone explain to me why glucagon concentration goes up and insulin goes down during excercis? And how do these actions help get glucose to the body cell? This subject is a bit confusing for me. Please help. Thanks. :?

glucagon converts glycogen into glucose
it also helps in gluconeogenesis
that is conversion of non hexose substrates into glucose
insulin is responsible for conversion of glucose into glycogen
the brain finds glucose more useful during exercise
so the blood glucose level is elevated by glucagon
for further details search on google
