Gene examples

Could you give me some examples of simple genes that don't have a long sequence? It is for a project and I cant think of any easy ones the moment and I've tried browsing but I'm not getting anything.

Could you please give me some examples? I have looked some more but all I am coming across are really long ones.

- gjb2 (in humans).
- lin4 (in Chaenorhabditis elegans and probably in humans).
- mir1 (in worms, flies and humans).
- sh (in viruses).
