The synthetic bladder?

Post by i_r_e_d » Fri Apr 07, 2006 5:18 am

Have you guys/girls heard about the bladder that they grew from these bladder problem people? I think that they got some bladder cells and then just grew it in a pee tree dish. After it got big enough, they put it into a bladder mold and then put it in the bladder infected peeps... Now they can piss normally!!! I thought that it was weird...

Yeah, the first human transplant of a bladder like that was just done recently, although it has been theoretically possible for at least a year by now.

It's an incredible breakthrough, because it lowers the need for donors and reduces the risk of rejection to zero, since the cells for the organ came from the person that needs it!
