Please help! Basic sperm and egg question

Post by pictsrus » Wed Apr 05, 2006 2:38 am

Does the sperm provide the blood to the egg? or is the blood created by the unison of the sperm and the egg?

Ovum= one cell
Sperm= one cell
Blood= many type of cells

The sperm is very very small, I doubt it could provide much blood...

Well the egg cell is bigger, but it still doesn't provide any blood :D

There is no blood. Are you trying to say something different. Maybe like nutrients?

Once the sperm cell and the egg cell have fused, the zygote begins to divide, and cells will eventually begin to differentiate. This differentiation eventually gives rise to blood, so I suppose that you could consider the blood to be created by the union of the sperm and the egg.
