Plants and Fungi

Post by Biologic26 » Tue Mar 28, 2006 12:29 am

Plants are the primary producers, which means they produce their own food from the sun's energy and nutrients from the environment, and pass it on to the herbivores that consume them. Fungi are decomposers, they break down the dead plant and animal material to add the nutrients back into the environment. And the cycle continues...

Purpose? Their only pupose if their was one was to reproduce and spread as much as possible in a selfish attempt to live forever through their offspring. All the rest is purely a by product of this. Come on, a purpose in life? None except the one we want to give us as conscious being, but plant and fungi have no other purpose than to live fo just another minute and the next etc.

Don't forget there is a very important
symbiatic relation between plants and fungi. :)
