Post by biology_06er » Tue Mar 21, 2006 9:36 am

Hi

Cld sum1 pls explain why a bacterial cell wld not need to produce an enzyme like B-galactosidase all the time?..does it have sumthing to do with a bacterium making glucose so wld utalise that b4 making B-galactosidase as B-galactosidase is only produced if a beta nutrient is not available

Thanks alot

Bcose, just like typing for you as it seems, producing B-gal all the time is too energy consuming.
