NAD or FAD??

Post by kiekyon » Thu Mar 16, 2006 2:03 am

why does some reaction in krebs cycle uses NAD as oxidising agent and 1 uses FAD??
isn't it better that all reaction uses NAD as they produce more ATP??

to answer your question, nobody really knows why FADH has evolved. Maybe recent discoveries have solved the mistery, but from what i know the best explination they could come up with said that FADH is in the cell to do some other work...
If anyone has any info, please share...
