Try to search some IBO questions and compare the information inside with your new book...I don't think that IBO has that specific questions....
Q: Why are chemists great for solving problems?
A: They have all the solutions.

You are already qualified for IBO? In my country the exam is in 2 months from now.
Anyway, my best guess is it won't help you much. The theoretical exam at IBO is based mostly on the Campbell book, and it is much more general than Alberts.
But always keep it in your bookshelf. It's a good book to have around and reading it will help you in your life, if you are considering a career in molecular biology or a related field.
By the way, if i qualify, i'll see you in Argentina

Well, i have to warn you: in some countries(like mine), it doesn't help one bit to actually know biology when you go to nationals. You have to know the textbook, and know it by heart.
Where are you from?
