HELP! Cell culture identification (PCEC)

Post by SFemily » Fri Mar 10, 2006 11:26 pm

I ran a primary chick embryo (9 days) cell culture in one of my classes and I'm having difficulty identifying the cells of our experimental cultures. Our control was muscle tissue if that helps at all and the attached photos are giemsa stained cultures under an inverted microscope (20x).

Can anyone help me identify these? Are they just mutants? I've been looking at different culture slides all week and it looks like one might be cartilage or bone marrow(EE5). The other one I can't find anything on (EE10).

Any help would be appreciated. Please let me know if there is any additional information that one would need to identify the cells. The cells differentiated from fibroblasts.
