It is a genetic disease. As much as I remember a sex linked one. Located on X. It leads to muscle wasting.

yeah.. i think so, based on my study in senior high school a year ago, this is a genetic disease.. linked X..

our muscles need anykind of protein to work. our genes tell the body to make protein that the muscles needed. but, in MD, genes have a wrong info, so the body can't make these proteins properly..

there are 2 types..
Duchenne and Becker

Nah, my memory said that it's related with recessive autosomal mutation dissease...I think the fullname of this genetic dissease is DMD (Duchenne Muscular Disthropy)..correct me if I'm wrong..

From wikipedia:
The most common form is Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This form is caused by mutations of the gene for the dystrophin protein. The dystrophin gene is the second largest gene in mammals.

The dystrophin gene is located on the X chromosome, thus making it a 'sex-linked' disorder. Accordingly, muscular dystrophies are much more common in males, as females have two copies of the X chromosome while males have only one

It is not autosomal, it is a sex linked one.

there are some 14 MD's if you are invetigating one in particular, make sure you have the name correct as they each have unique features.
