Extracellular fluid

Post by CLHadl5 » Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:08 am

I am suppose to list six qualities of extracellular fluid maintained under optimal conditions, when the body is said to be in homeostasis.

Does anyone know the six qualities? I am not good at this. I am just starting this.

Well...ECF is made up protein which helps maintain oncotic pressure. It has bicarb, which is a buffer (helps regulate pH levels), it is what produces mucous in our respiratory and GI systems...ummm...it makes up our CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid)....Ummm.. it regulates sodium (also helping oncotic pressure) and I think (not sure about this one) but I think it helps with hormone transport.....

Hope that helps!
