Clear in the morning, brown in the afternoon

Post by SRR » Mon Jul 17, 2017 7:45 pm

If I have some water collected from a freshwater source which is clear in the morning, but goes brown later in they day (then repeats the following day), what organisms would cause that?
I have read that diatoms can produce this effect, because they divide in unison at night, but are there any other organsims which also do this?

Thanks in advance,

Shaun.
