How much vegetables in a day?

Post by hurly » Sat Jan 28, 2006 5:28 pm

As the topic says, how much vegetables are we supposed to eat per day to cover the amount of nutritions found in the vegetable? I know about the 5 fruits a day rule.
Let's take broccoli for example. How much per day?

They say 5 portions of fruit or vegetables. So 5 blueberries is not enough and 5 Pumpkins maybe too much.
A rule of the thumb is one portion is about the size of your fist. So you need just a few "flowers" of broccoli, but plenty of blueberries. Diversity is also something to aim at.
