A recent study has shown that a protein called ZMYND8 is able to inhibit metastasis-linked genes in prostate cancer. Metastasis is a process that cancer cells migrate from their original site to other parts of the body. As is known, metastasis makes cancer difficult to treat. The major cause of mortality in cancer patients is metastasis. Understanding what causes metastasis and how to stop it could lead to the development of novel treatments.
