independent assortment vs sex linked inheritance

Post by bionewbie » Tue Jan 24, 2006 1:44 am

Would somebody please explain to me the differences between the laws of independent assortment and how that differs from sex linked inheritance?

According to the law of independent assortment, when two dihybrid cross, the phenotypic ratio is 9:3:3:1 right?

When there are sex-linked chromosomes involves, the ratio is different. Why is that?
