Find the amount of O2 the blood absorbs in the lung for a mi

Post by prishila » Wed Jan 06, 2016 8:32 pm

100 ml blood of lung vein contains 14 ml O2. The volume of blood in the left ventricle is 70 ml. Find the amount of O2 the blood absorbs in the lung for a minute.

Here's what I did

100ml blood -> 14 ml O2

70 ml blood -> x

x=0.98 ml O2

The heart beats 70 times

So 0.98*70=68.6 ml.

Is this solution right?

Hi.I am not familiar with this calculation but I suspect you have made an error of 10 times. If 100 ml blood is 14 ml O2, 70 ml will be 9.8 and not 0.98.
