ammonium and sulphates

Post by erana » Mon Oct 19, 2015 1:21 pm

Hello,

Quick question, as I do not understand fully what ammoniumsulphate is in the laboratory :
E. coli multiplies in MgSO4,
If I mix ammonium (NH3) with E. coli and MgSO4 (Magnesium sulphate) (and maybe water), do the E. coli survive ?

Your experiments are designed to be novel, and I have a complete understanding of it.
But I think E. coli can't grow in ammonia.
